Help - What / Which MC

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Can you help me select which MC i should buy !!!!

I am living in Hua Hin

I can ride Big  / small Bikes ... but i am unsure which Bike to select

I want a bike for town use..... with maybe some storage

I guess 60 - 70 % of the time on a bike is pottering around town and short 20-30 km journeys

but i also want to tour a south / east / north Thaialnd .... not a huge bike !!

with side Panniers etc

So what bike meets my criteria ?

what size engine ?

I have been advised a big touring bike is not suitable for every day needs

Budget ....under 200k bht

hopefully with good fuel economy

What about the Chinese Keeway 250 cc ???

all comments  / advice welcome

Honda Forza. Forget anything Chinese as it may seem like a good buy when compared to a Japanese ride but from experience it will cost you far more than you save in the long run. If that isn't to your style think about the CBR 250. Stick with Japanese though thumbsup.gif

i say get a honda cb500x for 210 k thb new from honda bigwing.

it is a great bike to use in town and go for touring at the same time.

it is a light and easy to ride bike too.

Better dont get involved in Chinese bikes.

First you should decide if you want an auto or shift bike.
The Forza is a good auto, you might even try a PCX or Sh150 if you are not a speed demon.

If you want a real bike with gears consider used too, like a Ninja650.

I think you should get a bike with a tall windscreen or at least one you can add a tall screen to so the wind and rain won't fatigue you on your tours.

I would get a huge topbox before panniers so the bike will stay narrow.
I have a Givi55 on my scooter and have no problems splitting heavy Bkk traffic.

Every bike has its compromises.
If I had 200k, I would get a small scooter for town and a used bigbike for the touring.
You won't like the extra mass of a bigbike in town traffic but you will miss its power when touring.
If I had 1 choice I guess the Forza since automatics are so carefree to ride.

Given that this thread is much like the one on "How long is a piece of string" I'll refrain from posting my worthwhile comments as it's just a waste of time when the OP totally ignores the pearls of wisdom I willingly share. whistling.gif
