Heres one i couldnt get my head around so hence i need some advise from the guru's in this forum

The story goes

A friend of mine has stayed in Thailand for the past 3 years and has just returned to Australia

He has left behind his beloved of 2 and a half years back in Thailand where she is a lectuare at a major university

His employer here in Melbourne has offered to apply for a business visa for her so she could lecture in his colledge

What the original plan was to apply for a PS visa and join him here but now that this job offer has been offered it may make things different

My understanding is that

The p.s visa could take up to 4 months to be granted

The B.V could be weeks and would be for a period of up to 4 years with annual re application

Is it possible to arrive on the Business Visa commence work and later down the track Marry in Australia ,I think that seems feasable

BUT if she is on a business visa and wants to apply for a spouse visa while in Australia ,Is that Possible?

You have it covered pretty much.

A temp long stay BV can lead to a PV down the track and I havent checked it right out but my gut feeling is that a spouse visa could be applied for while on a long term business visa but dont hold me to that...

As I said in another post...you can marry a girl here no matter what visa she has, but it doesnt ensure a successful spouse visa application.
