If a man has a sex-change operation and becomes a woman, at what age does she receive a pension?  In my country, women get pensions five years earlier than men.... and I am sure the differential applies in other countries

(Sorry, no link;  I saw it this morning, and can't find it again!)

N.B. I have no personal axe to grind here;  just interested!

In the EU this is against any disciminationlaw and the few countries that had such a rule are having to wipe it out soon. Your idea that this is very common is thus untrue. In fact the whole action against it was started when some state-railways had different ages for lower fare travel.

(Out of the EU itself, Switserland has 64 for ladies and 65 for men), Also most EU-countries are raising the age of pension slowly/gradually.
