For those that remember it, the Crown Hotel on Sukhumvit soi 29, is in the process of being torn down. Stayed there many times in late 60's and early 70's when it was a ok place.

Stayed there back in 73 when I was with the US Army. Stayed a week on TLA, temporary lodging allowance, waiting for my flight back to the US.

stayed last year--another one bites the dust.

Wont miss those giant plastic pillows......and the sore neck....Do miss the Federal........have the prices escalated ror the PB?

Ahh yes the Crown Hotel.

Entrance on Sukumvit and along the side Soi.

Horrible bathtub pool nobody used.

Cops lounging around the sad coffee shop downstairs.

I miss it already.

Long walks back from the original Thermae.

It will never be what it once was.

Glad I experienced all that.

Correct .... recently renovated and is now the Retro Oasis hotel.

Has a small coffee shop eatery at the front.

Would like to know what happen to there 1960's swimming pool in the middle ....

I guess the Crown cockroaches that were permanent residence were forced to leave .......

Stayed at the Crown every visit for 20 years. I enjoyed it, and the area. My wife was relaxed there which was not the case in more plush hotels. My question is have they got the same staff. Dang the manager, the coffee shop and cleaners were all like friends?

I dont think it has mr Dang there as i was told last year it had been sold , sad to see as i enjoyed that place,
