Recently renewed my visa at the consulate in Cardiff...  never used them before as always got a visa by post from Hull but just to say their service was very efficient ... in and out in 10 minutes!

 

As I'm over 65 they only wanted copy of bank statement showing receipt of UK pension or letter from DWP

 

I also got  quick responses to emails... .

I thought such visas were subject to approval by London? Has this changed in some places?

I've heard this too, thats why I got in touch with Cardiff..

 

maybe referral happens for some O-A visas but certainly no problem at Cardiff if your are over 65
