I have been living in Chiang Mai on a non-immigrant B visa with work permit since June 2013 and will quit teaching English on 15th August. My school will end my visa on Monday 18th. I have a flight to Europe booked for September 10th and would like to spend the remainder of my time in Thailand (25 days). What is the best and cheapest way to do so?

On the 18th you can go to Immigration and your non b extension will be cancelled. You can get a 7 day extension for 1900 THB. After that you will need to leave the country and return on a tourist visa or VOA if they will allow you in on one.
