August 5, 201411 yr My Lenovo P-780 Android phone was operating normally today until it suddenly crashed for no apparent reason. I was able to eventually restart it but it soon became clear that many of my apps, basically all those stored on the Micro SD (32gb) external memory card were gone. I went into "Settings--Storage" and under "External Storage" it warned of a damaged SD card. Along the icon area at the very top of my home screen is a warning triangle and next to it a icon of a SD card with an exclamation mark within. I tried un-mounting and then remounting the card but no change. Obviously a problem with the memory card. Does anybody know of a method of troubleshooting an SD card using a laptop with the defective memory card inserted via adapter into the card reader. There are many files on that card that I would hope to recover. Any suggestions welcomed.
August 6, 201411 yr Files could be recovered by some windows programs. There are many. It is same as harddrive recovery. Connect it to a usb microSD reader and connect to your pc. Partition recovery programs should handle the rest.
