More than 70 million baht is paid to victims of the Ocober 14, 1973 student uprising

The Social Development and Human Security Ministry has made more than 70 million baht in compensation to victims of the October 14, 1973 student uprising.

Pakorn Panthu (ปกรณ์ พันธุ), director of the Social Welfare Services Office, said 49 people who were wounded and crippled in the incident received 1,449,660 baht each and 54 relatives of those killed in the uprising received 215,900 baht each.

The money was paid either as a lump sum or monthly pension to parents, spouses and children of the victims, Mr. Pakorn said.
