Hi guys,

As i have already posted I'm an Argentinean tourist/traveler that recently has crossed to Malaysia.

I'm in Penang now. I have never been here and I like this town.

In some days a friend of mine is going to arrive to Bkk to travel with me.

Is my third time in SeAsia in this last year's and have traveled quite a lot, so my plans are to guide her through different places.

As I did at the beginning of the year with my mother, I have used Bkk as a base to travel around and would like to do the same. But now....

So my question is, as I'm in Penang now, do I apply for a tourist visa, or I fly to Bkk with my visa exemption?

From this year I got three stamps for entering Thailand mixed with visas from other countries.

Fortunately I don't need to work. I have a business in my country that allows me to travel around and receive money monthly in my Thai bank account due to problems we have in Argentina regarding debit/credit cards in foreign countries.

So please, any suggestions?

Hope you can understand me. Problems in my country, problems here just for traveling around.
I'm tired.

Thanks in advance.

it is your choice. Since you get a 90 day entry I would consider the tourist visa an unneeded expense.

Since you have been out of the country for a period to time you would not be considered doing an "in/out".

This is what immigration's guidelines say.

'Aliens use the advantage of Tourist Visa Exemption by leaving Thailand and returning immediately for the purpose of extending their stay, which is considered from the tourism point of view to be longer than necessary and not in line with the purpose permitted while entering country."

"The alien must enter the Kingdom with the sole purpose of tourism, and not for work."

"Alien will be interviewed and requested to show evidence of the purpose of tourism such as tickets, pocket money, booking slip, traveling plan."

"Upon complete evidence of entering the Kingdom for tourism purpose and not for working purpose, alien shall be granted for permission to stay for 15, 30 or 90 days as set out in the bilateral agreements."
