Hi,

A quick question please.

I'm looking to get certified copies of the relevant pages of my passport for proof of id and confirmation of visits to Thailand in preparation.

I'm doing this for visa application and also for 'affirmation of right to marry'.

Who can I get to do this for me? Can an accountant do it?

Thanks.

Usually done by a solicitor or commissioner for oaths.

By coincidence, this morning I had to get a copy of my driving licence certified by a solicitor. The first one I tried wanted £10, but all the solicitors were out. So I tried another 2 doors down and they did it for me and charged only £2!

Shop around first.

I have never heard that you need proof of visits in Thailand or a certified copy of ID /passport.

The affirmation is easily done at your embassy - they will need your Passport for that. And for the Wedding at the Amphuer you just give a plain copy with your signature on it....this at least how it worked in the Amphuer where i got married.

hope that helps....and correct me if am wrong here,

You do not need a copy of your passport for the AFM., correct. But you do need it for the visa application.

Certified? Well, the checklist for a spouse visa says

4. Certified copy of spouses passport as evidence that he/she is British or is settled in the UK.
You should copy all the pages, including the blank ones, so the ECO can see all the entry and exit stamps as the frequency and length of visits is useful evidence for the relationship.
