Visit some of the nicer bars and meet a decent bar girl... there are some out there. Most can speak some English and they know the area and there are the obvious benefits as well. That will get your URGENT needs met.

Its funny and maybe you decide to not visit the company because you have better use of the girl....

But in Thai companies, if you come with a bar girl, you will be seen as the lowest of the lowest (specialy because Thai men have other ideas about beautifull as farangs, so it will be for him (if male) an ugly looking bargirl, if the boss is female it will be even worse).

I wasn't saying that was the best way to go... but it was definitely the quickest. There are girls that clean up pretty well and that can look presentable. As I said... urgent is urgent and that was quick. A professional translator would be best. But someone that didn't plan for that or make pre-arranged contacts at business's probably wouldn't do too well at planning that either. I wish him luck.

I would definitely try for a professional translator as first impressions mean a lot.

I'm sure there are agencies that can provide at short notice and I think it was very good advise from above to ask at a hotel.

Also ask at your embassy, they usually have a list of translators.

I know a couple Taxi drivers that are dependable, speak pretty good english and won't rip you off too bad.

If you did not have the foresight to arrange for a professional Translator before you arrived in Thailand - and give yourself at least a few hours together before meeting "some Thai people in Thai Companies" in order to give him / her some background information on what you intended to discuss in the meetings - I very much doubt that you will impress anyone in Business here in Thailand.

I assume you have made appointments to meet "some Thai people in Thai Companies" too of course? Or do you propose to simply wander in off the street and expect them to immediately make time from their schedules and greet you with open arms?
