Simple Question , Single entry 60d +30d extension from US consulates

Featured Replies

Curious if anything has changed, in my ability to walk into a Consulate here in the USA to obtain a single entry 60 day tourist visa. Or is it possible I might have to visit or mail in a passport to an embassy? Then once I have the 60 day visa, should there be no problem at all, going over to ChaengWattana and getting a 30 days extension? Do I wait till day 25 , as the extension will be valid on the day I go ? Or does it start when the days of the 60 day expire? (as I need to know how to plan my Plane Ticket Travel). Typically, how long is the Visa good to enter the country, eg it is issued, then must be used by ____ date ?60 days or so Do US embassys routinely issued multiple entry type visas, or not so much , just a matter of paying extra? thx in advance

why dont you google the consulates?

You should be able to go to a consulate and get a tourist visa.  They are available as single, double and triple entry visa.  The cost is a multiple of $40, $40, $80 and $120.  The single entry is valid for 3 months from the date of issue, the double and triple 6 months from date of issue.  Each 60 day entry can be extended for 30 days at immigration for 1900 baht.  Normally you would do it during the last 30 days of your 60 day entry.  It is tacked onto your current permission to stay, not from the day you apply.

so might I get a double entry, and exit and re-enter, instead of a single and chaengwattana extension ?
or might that exit/re-entry not be OK anymore either?

get it, then try for extension. if u cant get one, do the exit/entry

A list of honorary consulates in the US is here on embassy website: http://www.thaiembdc.org/dcdp/?q=consulate_honorary

You can only do a application at the honorary consulates in person.

Mail or in person applications can be done at the embassy or the 3 official consulate in NY, LA or Chicago.

You can still get the extensions without a problem.

yes you can get a single or double entry tourist visa at US consulate, doesn't have to an embassy. they are not issuing triple entry visa anymore at consulates in us.
