thai arrest warrant?

Featured Replies

i recently posted on here to find out about my overstay for visa , and getting home , now i have the funds to pay my overstay and flight home. but when i first came to thailand i came to stay with a friend , i ha complete access to his motorbike everyday in which he handed me the keys, one day i came off it and now it is a write off and has been scrapped. we had a fall out and since he has informed me he has reported the motorbike stolen to his local police station and give them my name and date of birth. wether i am in the right or not if i try to leave the country will this stop me flying will this flag up when i go through the airport i dont no if a warrant has been put out for my arrest as he or the police do not have an official address for me.is it a risk me going to immigration to sort my visa out or will this not have been made into an arrest warrant or is it a risk me trying to fly out of thailand?
This doesn't belong in Visas to other countries, let's try it in Thai Visas for now.

Steve the most important thing is you get your overstay cleared first. Maybe you will be stopped maybe you won't. Worst case scenario you will have to make restitution for the bike. I doubt very much you will be stopped but if you do make sure you can call someone to bail you out. The Police would look on this matter similar to a domestic dispute, not a big deal.

OP You don't really say whether when you came off the bike it was a write off and as such was your responsibility or whether your ex mate is simply claiming you are responsible ? If you did write off your friends bike then pay for it or pay for the damage you did. I think your ex friend is just trying to scare you into paying as unless you stole the bike and this was reported when it happened I doubt there is much he can do

I suspect your former friend is just telling you a story. If he knew how to find you when made the purported report to the police was done they would of showed up looking for you then. It sounds more like threat than anything else.

You need to clear your overstay on departure from the country.as soon as possible.

as i understand it when a complaint of a minor nature [dispute as opposed to a serious crime] is laid with the police, the police will personally deliver to you to a notice, for which you are required to sign, to appear at the police station. failure to attend at the time and place advised in the notice may then result in an arrest warrant being issued. if you have not been contacted by the police it is unlikely a complaint has actually been lodged.

Unhelpful posts and replies to it have been removed.

To OP: You should buy your ticket out of the country and pay your fine on the way out of the country.

apologies for my rudeness then mate as thats how your posts came across ,the problem ive had is no money whatsoever for a few months up until now where family found the funds for me to travel , the bike was bought second hand but was a complete write of so no repairs can be done at the minute i literlly have the funds to leave the country and not one baht more that is why i am suggesting risking leaving even if he has reported this to the police

i received an email from a lady on here , she only has 22 posts ( more than me i know ) but this made me a little suspicious, offering the services of checking my name out at the border for an arrest warrant ? is this legit as sh says they are allowed to offer there services on here via pm, and the problem i still have is if i go there and i do have an arrest warrant then it will make life alot more difficult for me ?

This is a civil matter, for which he can go to court. Immigration has nothing to do with this, and will not stop you. Unless of course it is at the courts already, in which case you may be forbidden to leave the country, but you should have received notice of the court case.
