Police harassment.....what are my rights?

Featured Replies

I was on a motorcycle taxi by Ekamai BTS and all of a sudden the police come over and start messing with me for no reason at all. The police pulled the motorcycle off to the side had me step off and into the little police corner station and proceeded to check my laptop bag and a bag with clean laundry. They then asked me questions and had me take a piss test.  I've been in Thailand almost 2 years and something like that has never happened to me before. There was 1000000% no reason whatsoever why they should have done that.

What are my rights?

What if I refused?

How could you refuse? Police have the right to stop and search without reason. Did you pass the piss test?

yes, for sure I passed.

Assuming you are a foreigner the answer is you have no rights here.

Well they didn't find anything so I presume they didn't ask for money?

What does "1000000%" mean?

You clearly are distorting facts.

What a BS post!

You should seek correct legal advice if you are concerned. I suggest you post in the 'ask a lawyer" section.
