Rimmer Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Ministry of Defense “Educational” visit to Pattaya PATTAYA:--On Thursday a delegation from the Ministry of Defense spent the day in Pattaya to analyze the work of Pattaya Police and Pattaya City Hall.Local officials “breathed a sigh of relief” after it became clear that the visit was for education purposes only and was a chance for younger members of the Thai Military to understand more about how Pattaya operates. The visit began at Pattaya Police Station where Police Colonel Supatee, the acting-Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station, welcomed the delegation, led by Group Captain Tailort. The group were given a tour of the station and appeared particularly interested in the work of the Foreign Police Volunteer unit,- See more at: http://www.pattayaone.net/pattaya-news/139495/ministry-of-defense-educational-visit-to-pattaya/#sthash.6ImbI9Ue.dpuf -- Pattaya One 2014-08-15
96tehtarp Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Is anyone speculating that this educational visit will be followed up by more serious visits? "Local officials “breathed a sigh of relief” after it became clear that the visit was for education purposes only" It would seem some local officials are expecting them.
BoonToong Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Always send a recce team in before the main push
petercool Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I can confirm that this was a special invitation to a group of young trainees (who are under a programme of the Ministry of Defence) to enable them to interact with foreigners; to practice their English skills and to get an introduction to police and security issues in a major tourist city. This is totally unrelated to any other Army endeavours despite the above speculations.

Judging by the photo in the OP it certainly appears that the group is in fact a group of eager and attractive young female trainees, although it's difficult not to speculate when the Pattaya police will be given more scrutiny by the NCPO. champers Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Some rather attractive young ladies in attendance there. Looks like a charm offensive to me. If the charm doesn't work.....?
balo Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) If they want to practise english and learn about foreigners in Pattaya they should just visit the nearest go go bar. Edited August 18, 2014 by balo
