He tried to leave, so he's a flight risk. Not to do with evidence as they have no proof yet that he killed her. Only that he was with her and disposed of her body. The trial is for evidence shown and a decision to be made. Of course most here think he did it but he's still presumed innocent until proven guilty. Many times a person looks 100% guilty and wasn't, and some with no definitive guilt have been proven guilty by DNA.
