ED visa in language school and visa for dependant

Featured Replies

Hello, searched the forum and found different info on my question so i am trying to figure out what is correct.

I am planning to apply for non im-ED visa based on studies of thai language after august 29th, so the new rules will be inforce already.

I was looking forward to bring my husband along with me as dependant  on non im-O visa.

From what i read its possible to make non-O for my dependant only after i get the extension of stay, would that mean 1st 90 days extension? Or what is extension of stay then?

There is also info on forum of 2011th and 2012th years that you cant get non-O visa for dependant based on non-ED from language school.

New order 1338-2557 in its clause 2.11 states that dependant can actually aply for non-O visa based on temprorary stay granted to person with non-ED visa of educational institutons under clauses 2.8 and 2.9. Formal-schools which seam to include langauge schools are stipulated in 2.9.

So will my plan work out?

Do i need to study for 3 mounths prior my husband can apply for non-O visa or am i getting it wrong?

Or is it an absolete no-no for language schools?

When you apply for the ED-visa your husband can apply for a non-O visa as your dependent on show of your marriage certificate. Once In Thailand he can get extensions of stay at the same time and for the same duration as you, so for 90 day at a time on proof of you studying and he being married to you.
