I have been working for the same company for 2 yrs + i have had to renew visa and work permit more or less at the same time, i have applied for EOS and now currently on 30 day consideration visa, during this time my work permit needs renewing, the well known comapny that is doing it for us apaprantly say that because i only have 3 weeks from the consideration that the work permit cannot be renewed and had to suspend it until i have the remaining 11 months stamp in passport.

Is this true?

The annoying thing is the same company told us to get a new visa first before a work permit!! Had i known this i would have gone out the country 2 days before my old Non-O visa expired and got 90 days more then applied for EOS.

Whether the work permit application can be processed and approved would depend upon the work permit office where the application was done. It should not be a problem but it varies from office to office.

Yes a 30 day under consideration stamp from an application for stay based on marriage. the company apparntly told me that it wouldnt be possible and have to suspend it, this ws before they even tried!

Are you already on the 30 days or did you apply for the extension early and your permit to stay is still valid. It is possible to have a stamp and not be staying on it yet.

I had a NON- 0 that was valid till august 7th on august 6th i applied for EOS based on marrige they give me consideration until 6th Sept, my work permit needed renewing on 18th August, the company doing it for us told me that they probably wouldnt renew as needed more time in the passport, he apparntley then went down and true to word came back and said they wouldnt renew and suspended it, makes me woder whether he actually tried or just suspended it anyway!

Work Permit and extension of stay do not have to be in sync anymore.in BKK I never heard of a problem with this. Sounds more like the company is not willing to try.
