Work permit aproval

Featured Replies

Can anyone give me any information on my scenario.

I've got three double entry tourist visas in my passport and have just been offered a job in Bangkok which I want to take.

Will my application for a work permit be approved by the ministry of labour?

Thanks

D

It will be approved if the company and you qualify for it.

They don't look at how many visas you have had if that is what you are concerned about.

Yes that was what I was concerned about. The company mentioned it could be a problem if they think I've been here working illegally.

They are a BOI company if that changes any of the process?

Being a company with BOI privileges will streamline the process.

Thanks foe the information Joe. I tried to search for this problem but couldnt find anything..... So maybe it isn't a problem.

I would be interested to hear if anyone has encountered anything similar?

Also I have been asked to provide work certificates from my previous employers. Anyone got an idea what they actually require? A reference? I'm assuming it's not a certificate in the same sense as my degree.

Thanks in advance....

References.

They will want to see a copy of your highest educational education. Work certificates are indeed references from your former employers, alwasy nice if it states in what position you worked and from what date till what date. It goes to your experience.

If anyone is out there reading this....an extension of this question.

The company in question said they are going to do a BOI employee registration and see if its accepted...if its accepted I will get the job.

However, I haven't got a NON-B yet. I think I don't understand the registration process??

I thought it would be rejected without one...or are they checking to see if my qualifications and passport etc are acceptable before officially submitting it?

If anyone has been through this before or has knowledge about this process, please let me know for some peace of mind :)

Not currently having a non-imm. B visa cannot be a reason for not getting a job In Thailand, because in any case you can obtain one (by conversion in Thailand, or new application outside), exactly because the company wants to hire you and is providing the correct paperwork.
