One of the last interviews I can remember him doing was when he spoke of losing his daughter and granddaughter to the tsunami in 2004 - they were swept away in Kao Lak. His comment that stood out to me was "I can't bear to celebrate Christmas," here's a link to one of his interviews -

An interview with the great man -

Here's the link to the original thread on Thaivisa describing the unfolding story of the Tsunami -

I think many of us have our memories of that day, no matter where in the world we were when it happened.

Richard Attenborough has been ill for a while and his death is not a shock - the tsunami dominated the latter part of his life, and no doubt many others have suffered so, too

RIP, Sir.

RIP indeed.

I remember watching his documentaries when I was a kid. RIP.

You watched David's not Richard's.

You watched David's not Richard's.

Then my thoughts go to David in support as well. Thank you for correcting me.

Moved to world news.

Both Richard and David went to the same school as me, (or rather, I went to the same school as them).

RIP

RIP
