Thai language class in Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hello Can you recommend an introduction to Thai langauage group-class either near Minburi or central bangkok that diverse people attending including different age groups attending i.e. not all young tourists :) Thank you

Doubt if you'll find anything in the Minburi area.

Lots of classes available in central Bangkok. Key point is, how many hours a week do you want to study? (Anything less than 15-20 and you won't make significant progress.) Are you a serious student, or do you want fun? Do you plan on studying Thai long term, going on to read and write well?

Hello AyG

Thanks for your response - I looking for part-time conversational class maybe 2 sessions per week - so not really serious but interested in learning basics and not long term

OK, I'm not the person to give advice. I only have experience of intensive, serious classes.

However, Walen (one of the sponsors of this site) might be right for you. I understand they have classes in Lat Phrao - not too far from Minburi.

Well that depends whereabouts on LP the school is located.

I wouldnt fancy sitting on the 27 bus to go from Min Buri all the way to Central LP.

an AUA branch is at Ramkhamhaeng, around Soi 53 or so. very easy to reach by Bus from Minburi. Not sure if they actually offer Thai classes or only English classes, as it is not exactly an area where many Farang live. and AUA Bangkok's approach of teaching Thai is not for everyone either (not for me at least, I prefer to do it the old-fashioned way).
