Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

This hospital seems to be very new, when I was admitting at BNH Bangkok staff told me they are majority shareholders of Bangkok Hospital CHiang Mai, its like their sister company.

Anyway have anyone been there? What are your experiences with this hospital? I will need to do my endoscopy and probably ERCP procedure here rather than going to Bangkok BNH again. Problem is BKK Hospital websites doesnt list any specialists in any field at all.

Chiang Mai RAM other alternative a bit disappointing that such a huge hospital has got only 1 GI doctor. I have admitted there 2 times and both times he was on vacation for 2 weeks. They had part timer coming at 8pm once a day who could do ja... t.

Thank you for your input.

Is there a reason you don't want to go to Sripat? It is the best option in CM.

Yes there are a couple. First my daughter was given tons of medicine since birth there because nobody could diagnose her with wheat allergy, docs kept thinking it was stomach infection.

Second I have insurance that covers everything and I need to do things quickly which never happen in gov hospitals. I know its a good place but rather get something done quickly when its convenient.

Is BNH Bangkok part of the Bangkok hospital grouphttps://www.bangkokhospital.com/en/index.php ?

Alfie yes, when I was at BNH they said to me they are majority shareholders or Bangkok Hospital or something like that. Problem is with CM one website doesnt list any specialists at all. Any web inquiries takes 3-5 days to get any response. CM Ram has got all my information already only problem is they only have 1 GI specialist he only works mon-friday. Weekends no one and when he goes on holidays which seems to happen very often they just close GI clinic.

Most of the doctors at Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai will come from Siphat or similar, avoid the mark up and go to the source - the hospital has only been open a few weeks and is part of the same family of Bangkok hospitals around the country..

Prof. Kannika Phornphutkul, who is on faciulty at CMU, has hours at Rajavej, Hospital (053 801999) and is very well qualified.

Prof. Emeritus., her husband is the Administrator at Rajavej.

Sri Pat is a private hospital

Money is not an issue here, as I said insurance covers thats why I pay them. Certainly none of these hospitals are more expensive that Bumrumgrad, BNH or Samitivej.

Anyway Sri Pat was under the impression that it is a government hospital, my mother-in-law had her cancer surgery for free using Social Insurance there 1 months ago. She had to pay for her room at 3,700 per day it is the worst I have ever seen. I had 2 bedroom vip in Chiang Mai ram for 3,500 bht.

Regardless, I go private for comfort and better service/facilities specially if anyone from my family stays with me. Also I live in lampang and don't have much time to drive back and fourth to chiang mai wait hours in queues.

Sriphat is on the campus of CMU, it is semi private in that the doctors are all specialists who mostly teach at CMU but also handle difficult cases in Suan Dok.
