divinio
I know there is a lot of info on the trip and I have done it a few times over the years but I hear it's so busy there now so I want some last-month-information I read the queue in the morning is really big. I will not go on a monday morning for sure. Thinking about a wednesday or thursday. I will be taking the bus from BKK and this is set to arrive at 5 a.m. in Nong Khai. With all the usual border formalities, I'm wondering if it's still possible to apply for the visa in the morning or is this wishful thinking nowadays? Anybody has done this successfully? Is it better to stay 2 nights in Vientiane because it's all so busy now? And to stand in line at the embassy from 5 am? I hate the place really so I would be happy to just stay one night only. phuket Mike
I got there quite late on a Thursday (9.45) end of last month and I was number 411, the place was mobbed. I think Monday and Thursday are the days the big visa companies get there. Lucky I had my children with me so got pulled to the front of the queue. So go Wednesday. ubonjoe
Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days. Arriving at 5am Nong Khai you will have plenty of time to get your application done.
TerryLH
"I will be taking the bus from BKK and this is set to arrive at 5 a.m. in Nong Khai." Is this a little early if they need to get a Lao visa?
Killian30
The trick is not to follow the herd and go at the end of the day 30 minutes before it closes and there is no Line. Baaaaaaaaaaaaa

Bridge opens at 6 am so timing is good.
