Thailand travel insurance scheme: Success or flop?

Thailand – The special online insurance coverage scheme known as the “Thailand Travel Shield” was initiated by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to help visitors who wish to travel to Thailand but are unable to get insurance coverage in their own countries due to the travel advisories imposed by various foreign governments.

Prayuth cabinet list goes to King

BANGKOK: -- The 29-member cabinet list of Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha was forwarded to His Majesty the King for royal endorsement yesterday evening.

The royal command announcing the endorsement of the new cabinet is expected tonight.

The Prayuth Cabinet comprises 11 retired senior military officers, former commanders in chief of the three armed forces who retire end of September. It also included former army commander-in-chief Gen Anupong Paochinda, and a retired Royal Thai Police commissioner Pol Gen Adul Sangsingkaeo.

It also included former permanent secretaries of ministries, and also a former governor of Nakhon Ratchasima province Sutee Markboon.

Here is the full list of the Prayuth Cabinet.

1. Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, Prime Minister and leader of the National Council for peace and Order.

2. Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs, and Defence Minister.

3. Gen Tanasak Patimapragon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

4. M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.

HM the King's health improves

Source: The Royal Household Bureau on Saturday announced that HM the King’s health is improved and he gains some weights. The monarch is now staying at Siriraj Hospital for medical check-up.

The blood laboratory test also showed better nutritional status and found no infection in the body system.

Suspected Phuket university students stab soldier in stomach

PHUKET: A young soldier on leave from military service in the South of Thailand was attacked and viciously stabbed late yesterday afternoon (August 29) on Pracha Uthit Rd just north of Phuket Town by four young men who, police suspect, are students at Rajabhat University Phuket.
