The Daily Mail

After the publication of 'those' photos and the accompanying article the Mail was blocked and has been for weeks. However over the last week or so it has been possible on occasions to open the link and read it. Sometimes it is possible to open an article in the paper and read it, other times the article itself is blocked. Has anyone any idea what's going on?

Believe it really depends on the ISP you are using.

I can pick up most of the DM links, News/US/Sport etc, but not the Home page.

However, that is using my local ISP. When I go elsewhere and use a wifi link, say at Bkk airport, can't open any of the DM links.

Won't mention which ISP works for me in case it gets a total block as well!!

It should be blocked in Britain too.

Yer its not exactly an in depth publication ---& the 2 brothers that own it (Known as the Barclay twins) were exposed by Panorama...last year for using thug like tactics on anyone that came to the adjoining islands Jersey etc & made any inquiries about them---- I guess that would be OK if they didn't try to hug the high moral ground all the time. Panorama looked into their property portfolio in London which included large Mayfair hotels which through a myriad of shelf companies made it possible not to pay any tax for the last 17 years....... well to be fair they are flat out exposing tax cheats in the UK for us, & yes they are friends with Mr T ....hence those photos which were shot in BKK & were all over the internet 3 years ago..... & them pretending it was now & at a hotel in England.

.

I did used to look at the sports page...... their football coverage was good. so for anyone who is missing them too much, the easiest way is to just down load ex-pat shield ..... gives you an ip number in the UK, I use it to get BBC 4 & listen to their football coverage instead of the Thai commentator who always seems like he is going to commit suicide when some one scores against Man U. ............coffee1.gif

Believe you have the wrong owners of the DM.

Lord Rothermere is the current owner of the DM and has been in the family for some past generations.

The infamous Barclay Brothers are the owners of the Telegraph.

The Daily Mail is owned by the 4th Viscount Rothermere. The next time the DM starts banging on about Amazon not paying it taxes just remember that Rothermere lives in France in order not to have to pay tax in the UK. Pot kettle.

Agreed!

+ when using "alternative" browsers and/or other solutions it works thumbsup.gif

Thai censorship just isn't that sophisticated. Same with some porn/gambling sites, if you try the primary domain it's blocked, but a deep url link sometimes works.

..where presumably he has to pay tax, unless France doesn't levy taxes on it's residents?

He lives in the UK but is non domiciled there for tax purposes. He claims that his tax allegiance is owed to France. All the income generated by the various companies he owns or controls is passed through a number of offshore trusts based in Bermuda thus any income arising from them is generated offshore and is not subject to any form of UK taxation. Basically he lives in a Palladian mansion that he had built in Wiltshire in 2001 at a cost of £40 million and yet he pays little or no tax in the UK. He's a leech.

Just because you haven't worked out how to minimise your tax liabilities like Jonathan has doesn't mean you can resort to calling him names. My cousin knew him when he was in Gordonstoun. Sound chap and nice neighbour.

I have full access to the DM on my HTC phone (bought in Thailand) and Nexus 7(bought in the UK) but cannot get it on my laptop.

He uses the DM to vilify those who minimise their tax liabilities yet does it himself. He's a hypocritical leech.

They have also blocked livescore.com , I used to keep up to date on the football from round the world on this site, then about a month ago it was blocked.

The wife is a football fanatic and she's been complaining for some time now about the football score sites being blocked.

Livescore app still works on the mobile.

I realise they are trying to stop gambling but ................

I use LiveScore.com all the time. Not had any problems at all. Works fine on both my laptop and mobile.
