"Joran Van Der Sloot" transferred to a new high security Peruvian prison

(Something for the World News Forum perhaps.)

For those unfamiliar with the name, "Joran Van Der Sloot" was a prime suspect in the Natalie Holloway disappearance in Aruba in 2005. He'd been running around the globe, including some time spent on Koh Samui in 2008 where he (allegedly) was involved in trying to traffic women to the Netherlands. He was never arrested in Thailand, though an undercover detective supposedly got him on tape confessing to murdering Holloway.

After that he moved around some more, apparently managed to bilk the FBI out of a wad of cash (by telling them where he hid Holloway's body - the information was false) and eventually ended up in Peru where he murdered a young woman. He was caught in Columbia and sent back to Peru where he was found guilty and sentenced to 28 years.

He was transferred from one prison to another when it was discovered he was getting too many "perks" (TV, internet, female "companionship"). I saw one report that says he got married in July. This report mentions he was transferred to a different high security prison (high security and high elevation apparently) after threatening a guard who took away his cell phone.

Makes me wonder how the h*ll this guy continues to be treated like a celebrity and how is it that he hasn't suffered a "fatal" accident of some kind by now.

He got himself an ED visa by enrolling at Rangsit University (where he would occasionally turn up to flirt with the students and hustle up some cash from locals) and lived life as a criminal in Pattaya and Ko Samui. When the ground was getting too hot under his feet and Interpol closed in on him, he took off.

When his 28 years in a (hopefully uncomfortable) Peruvian jail are up, he'll be extradited to the USA to stand trial. This cruel psychopath will grow old in jail and hopefully never trouble anyone outside of jail again.
