For a short time I was the administrator of an international K-12 school in Pakistan.

There were three fully qualified, Pakistani medical doctors teaching there. During the day they taught high school kids biology and the like to supplement their income working as physicians in private clinics at night and weekends.

We never needed to have a school nurse on duty with the three of them there, but I always found it difficult to believe that someone who qualified as a medical doctor would need to work for pretty meager teacher's pay to stretch their income.I can't recall how much they were making as full time teachers, but it was probably in neighborhood of Baht 20,000 or less.

I should add that I was also an instructor at the UAE University for a number of years and (allegedly) at least one of the men doing our photocopying had a PhD earned in India, in what field I do not know. Both the university and Higher Colleges of Technology used to receive tens of thousands of applications from the "sub continent" annually for teaching positions. All those applying had impressive sounding academic qualifications and virtually all were filed in the bin.

On paper, many of them might have made the cut for the O/P's cited positions.
