hi I am Canadian living here on retirement visa had lawyer do first time now I want to do my self can anyone tell me what I need thank you looked here but did not see anything

First of all, you need to be financially qualified.

Do you have income (from outside Thailand) of at least 65K per month?

OR

Money in a Thai bank over 800K bank or can move it there in time? (Must be in there for three months before your application appointment)

OR

Can combine those to at least 800K baht?

yes I have pension and private income

So as you state you have income at least 65K per month, you need to go to your embassy or consulate and get an "income letter" documenting this to show your financial qualification for an income based application. I don't know what the Canadian embassy requires to grant you that letter. Different embassies require different proofs (some require none). You can wait for someone to post who knows or contact your embassy.

Go in for your extension application 30 days or less (some immigration offices allow even earlier) than your current permission to stay to apply for your new annual extension. Where is your location in Thailand? That determines which office you need to use.

  1. yes I no were to go I'm in rayong I go to map ta put. just a letter of income is needed?

Also take proof of address.

You will do a statutory deceleration to prove your income at the Canadian embassy. That should be all you will need to apply for the extension..

thank you all for input

Proof of address with Embassy income letter (have pension/income proof in case asked) and TM.7 form with photo taken within 6 months attached to back, copy of passport data/visa/extension pages and departure cards (all signed by you) and fee of 1,900 baht. If you want re-entry permit another form/set of copies/fee.

It's not a visa, it's an extension of stay.

You'll need:

TM7 filled out, signed and with your phone number added below signature. Best to print it out on both sides of a single sheet of paper.

4 x 6 cm recent photo (they'll reject it if it's the same photo you used last year)

Baht 1900

Passport

Photocopies of:

passport identity page,

all prior extension stamps

original visa you used to enter the country and entry stamp

departure card (TM 6)

All photocopies need to be signed to show you are claiming they are true copies.

Original income affidavit from your embassy and/or original letter from your bank manager if you are using bank balance as part of your proof of finances.

Good idea to bring along bank book & photocopies of pages even if you are using the income option.

Some proof of your address ... they want this from some people, but I've never been asked for it at Jomtien. Different offices have different views on this.
