UK paying experts to build Islamic State war crimes case

(BBC) -- A team of international investigators funded by the British government is compiling evidence against Islamic State fighters carrying out atrocities in Iraq and Syria, the BBC has learned.

They have spent months preparing up to 400 prosecution-ready files on the group's senior leaders and fighters.

Internal IS documents acquired by the team show "command responsibility" for numerous atrocities.

The group has taken over swathes of Iraq and Syria in recent months.

Working in strict secrecy, the team of experts has spent all year actively investigating commanders, emirs and provincial governors for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The atrocities alleged to have been committed by those in their ranks include kidnappings, beheadings, crucifixions, torture and summary executions.

"We would like to see the murderers of James Foley brought to justice,"

One suspects most would like to see the murderers of James Foley hanging from a pole with their testicles and penis stuffed in their mouths...

What will they do if all these lead to the countries like Quait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain etc supporting them and funding them? Will they take any action? I doubt because then they loose investments from these countries into Europe and USA. Yes they may again send soldiers to Iraq and Syria to destroy these people. But is that the way? Shouldn't they also take action against the countries who fund them? Example for this is 9/11 where 19 of 21 criminals were from Saudi Arabia but they take the war to Iraq to destroy Al Quaida. It is well know that Saudi Arabia were funding this group.

No need for any experts - just ask the bloke (and his 2 (TWO) children)

What they feel about the invasion...

They ARE "Sick of it" and I quote from 20+ years of experience.

(BUT of course our "religion is one of tolerance" )

Ha Ha Ha

These monsters must be eradicated. How many parallels between them and the Nazis must be drawn before countries develop the same will and conscience that eradicated the Nazis ? Get them now, ask questions later.

These monsters have no soul, no humanity, no empathy and are completely devoid of those qualities that make the rest of us human.

No doubt they're saying the same about us.

Funny old world.

If brought to face charges the accused to a man will quote from a certain book in order to justify their crimes, in which case isn't it time said book was banned, or at the very least censored.

Why would you want to ban a book? It has never worked in the past. Books don't commit acts of terrorism, people do!

I know, my point is that people are committing acts of terrorism IMHO due to a shared ideology, which comes from a book. To recognize this is to get to the core of the problem otherwise our policy is like playing whack a mole.

Steely Dan post # 14

There are of two books that are at fault here the Bible and the Koran.

Read and preached by those desiring power so as to enslave the less intelligent masses into a religious fervour of hatred, intolerance, torture and mindless slaughter of others who may not hold parallel views.

Indeed splendid horror story's with an amazing array of violence, enslavement, rape, pillage, adultery, pedophilia, arson theft and gross intolerance of other views etc If such books were to be published now the outcry would indeed be the action that would cause those tomes to be withdrawn form sale.

Religious beliefs no matter which one is supposed to ''wash you whiter than white sin wise'' are indeed and always have been a malignant toxic cancer upon society throughout the ages..
