Documents Needed For Work Permit (non-teaching Job)

Featured Replies

Hello,

I was wondering if I need proof, as in a physical certificate, of my university degree in order to get a work permit for a non-teaching related job in Thailand. I know with the Ministry of Education they want to see the physical diploma for teaching jobs, but is this the case with other jobs? I'm being offered a proof-reading job, and they want somebody who can inject some farang vocabulary into their text. However, they have got it into their heads that they need to see my certificate/diploma before they can get me a work permit.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I don't necessarily have a lot of experience in this field, but have done some ESL teaching back in the states.

The certificate is a must , not only that. You also need to have your resume ready as well together with other letters from your previous jobs , especially in your home country. Salary slips etc will help out as well. Bascially they want to know if your job can be replaced by a Thai here or not. ie: why do they need to employ you if a Thai can do the same kind of job
