The actual member status is the one above the avatar and that one changes automatically to one of the below depending on number of posts. After 500 that one can be customized as bkkjames has.

You have to upgrade to be clueless....it took me 10000 posts to realize this.

I'm so glad you're not an English teacher.

I became a relaxed member....it offers many benefits like extra cheap beer and occasional portions of ribs and such....the leather seating is quite nice....but not in April.

The correct answer is:

You get upgraded to advanced by the board software after you use the MultiQuote button or quote multiple posts in a reply.
