I'm looking for a good shipping company to send back in Europe all my books and goods.

What is the best way : boat ? Make a palette. or share a container with somebody?

Does it make sens to bring back our furnitures?

I suppose it will be impossible to export the car...

I heard we can have tax exemption if we are an expat going back home : where can I find the rules about that point?

Thanks for coming information smile.png

It will not make sense to bring the car as prices in the UK for secondhand vehicles are much lower than Thailand.

Most Thai cars will not pass a UK test as the do not contain standard safety items such airbags etc.

Your best bet is to sell it before you return.

As for the furniture unless it has high sentimental value I would sell that as well.

Most Thai furniture I see is inferior to UK standard with no fire proofing etc.

strange my car in Thailand has standard safety items such as airbags...so it appears you have no clue what your talking about

so your suggesting a "Thai" car such a Merc or BMW wouldnt pass UK safety tests then, or even mid market Toyota's, Mazda's ?

however one reason for not taking a car from Thailand to the UK is the lack of heaters in a lot of Thai cars, would cost you a lot of money to retrofir me thinks

Check: https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk/overview

If you have a Merc or BMW in Thailand it should sell for a good price. I suspect it would make more than buying an equivalent second hand car in the UK.

The lack of a heater is the clincher!

Consider bringing back any really nice bits of wooden furniture. They cost the earth here!
