soidog2
How many of you think my melon seedling would still be there if I did not stop the overnight invasion ? Edited September 11, 2014 by soidog2
cooked
The recommendation is 20 grains per square meter. Snails are the least of your problems, a beer trap could fix that, the real attacks start later on. Anyway, this is a stagedfoto, isn't it? soidog2
No it is not staged, it is 48 hours worth of snail attack. Put it in the ground two days ago, took seeds from a Thai melon, only one came up out of many, not going to let it go so easy. The bugs; I can deal with it later, let it get strong first. tw25rw
I use snail pellets, but I've never seen them stopped in their tracks like that.. On the other hand, I use the non toxic kind (except to slugs and snails). It's a good idea to put the bait down a few days before you plant the seedling, and then every few days while the plant is still vulnerable. namdocmai
I read somewhere that ducks will eat the snails, i made plastic chickenwire fences around my plants..we have those huge snails here, it works.
