Is there a Muay Thai gym in Phetchabun (Muang)? I have heard some say yes and and some say no. Mostly whenever I ask I just get people telling me about the champion from here...

Not to my knowledge although its very possible at one of the Universities perhaps ?

They do have Friday night events in Wangchompu occasionally.

Yes there is a gym. Its really hard to find. The instructor is available around 4pm most days. Try these phone numbers

0817277801, 0884258994

The big uni also has Muay Thai, for their students, I would suggest going and enquiring directly about some training. They also have a gym and Olympic size pool

Have a look around the grounds. There is a dedicated Muay gym. There is also a ex national champ in ta pon who may be able to help you. Inquire with Kom, the owner of the restaurant next to dugong coffee at nong naree

Which university is the gym at, location? no problem to walk in and use it daily? what's the cost? what's the quality of machines / free weights and cardio equipment like?

Many thanks.

The Physical Education College. It's 20thb a day or they have some type if long-term plan. They're closed on weekends. Quality of machines and equipment is pretty crap, but it's usable enough I suppose.

Went and spoke with them today. 300 THB for one two-hour session, or 6,000 THB for 15 two-hour sessions (how in the hell does that make sense?).

If you're Thai you can get 15 sessions for 3,000 THB - luckily the owner knows my girlfriend's family, so I'm hoping they'll negotiate on the price with me a bit.
