Could have been worse could have parked on top of traffic enforcement officer God forbid. But Seriously does it even merit mentioning? Not like he or she hacked to death two people. No disrespect meant to anyone.

Can't blame him, there are no parking lines to align the wheels to.

The curb looks well maintained and straight.

Unfortunately they were unable to detain him as I assume the penalty for drink driving would be more server than his parking ticket and tow charges.

Doesn't look like soi Buakhao market to me.

This was not blocking the road so either a photo of a different vehicle or the vehicle was moved prior to this picture.

He was parked here: http://goo.gl/maps/lzrYF , that's just outside what used to be Grand Hall disco.

All parking along there is banned on both sides on market day due to the large amount of traffic.

That's funny considering that blocking roads , parking illegally , stoping in the middle of the road is a normal daily occurrence .

Is this a big deal because he was a foreigner ?

True but not normally by foreignersgiggle.gif

If he had just thought to leave his 4-way flashers flashing - then it would have been viewed as just a 'Normal' parking arrangement..................................

Yes, sad but true.

I feel that those who park illegally, and leave their flashers on, should have the punishment doubled, they obviously knew they were doing wrong but went ahead and did it anyhow!

Why do they print a story like this...and leave one hanging-on for a conclusion...did the man get arrested...did his car get impounded...was he give a citation and a coupon for a free beer on walking street...?

That is what happens when you are too lazy to click on the story, if you had, you wouldn't be hanging on........

The vehicle was eventually towed away and is now being kept in the Pattaya Police Compound until the owner pays a fine and storage costs to secure the release of the car

"Is this a big deal because he was a foreigner ? "

It is a big deal on Thai Visa.

Otherwise, drunk & arrogant foreigners are fairly common place.

The headline is correct but as for blocking the road, that is nonsense

Congratulations. You've taken what is essentially a report on a non-news event and managed to focus on arguably the least important aspect of it.

When you are drunk, nothing is straight.

The way he parked, it is straight.....

Please look at the picture. That is hardly a normal parking position for a car,

Agreed. Parking cock-eyed is not normal. He did not do it the Thai (or, normal) way. Thais use the entire right or left side of their car, parking parallel and out into the lane, to block the road by one or more meters.

Had he parked parallel, and 2 or 3 meters away from the curb, he would have fit in like a pea in a pod.

Parking cock-eyed is what got him noticed. NEVER park cock-eyed in Thailand! That could be considered an incomplete screw-up!

Oh the humanity!
