Large superrich exchanges

Featured Replies

Can you walk into superrich and change one million baht to dollars for sure, or may they not have enough dollars? Any input? I suppose I should call them, but thanks for any info.

Also, what would be less of a hassle, a Thai to exchange the money or a foreigner, if either.

I personally would prefer walking in with one million Baht, rather than exchange via my bank account,

For sure you will get a better rate..

As for getting it out the country ?? Not sure about that one.

I am walking in with one million baht.

I just called them and the girl said they limit you to about 150k baht per passport. Who knows if this is actually true.

I am not sure if there is a limit, but if you go to the one near big c and central world you will find 4 or 5 different currency exchange companies, so if there is a 150,000 baht limit you should be able to change a most of it

Two months ago I was with friend at big SuperRich by Big-C. He was wanting US$10k, had the 300+k in baht and his passport. They exchanged without blinking an eye, with most of the $ given as crisp new pattern US$ with US Treasury bands.

1 million Baht is no problem for the head office of Superrich.

I have seen load of foreigners exchange money, just bring a passport.

Thais need to bring their ID card.

I think she was saying on the phone that this was a new regulation since the current junta took over though. It's always so hard to get a straight answer here.

I go to the SuperRich Thailand headquarters (the green one, usually has the best rate) in Bkk on a regular basis to exchange money both ways (Baht<->USD ) and I see large sums being exchanged. They do have a sign that if you are doing an exchange that is in excess of $5,000 USD to let them know, presumably so they can make sure they can accomodate you. I will mention that accross the street at PowerExhange (the pink one) they usually match the SuperRich rates, have less of a crowd and are super friendly, so I exchange there whenever the rate is the same. Also around the corner at SuperRich1965 (orange one) the rate is within a few satang. If you cannot get the service you need at one (exchanging the full amount) you can use all three in a single day, they are only 20 meters apart. I recommend PowerExhange because they are less picky about the condition of the notes and don't have 50 people in the queue and a 30 minute wait to complete the exchange.

Can anyone post a map of the super rich HQ? I am up North. I know the centre of BKK if you can name a landmark/hotel.

This thread mention $$$. Any experience of baht to £££ please?

Thanks

All three are near Big C on Rajdamri road across the street from Central World. Rajdamri road is between Chong Nonsi and Siam BTS stations, walking distance from either station. SUPER RICH THAILAND Rajdamri
