Satun Customs House seize illegal imports

The Satun Provincial Customs House has seized foreign liquor and beer worth over two million baht.

Mr. Raqop Srisupa-at (ราฆพ ศรีศุภอรรถ), the Director of the 4th Customs Office, received reports of liquor and beer smuggling on ships, and immediately responded with a plan to investigate, seize, and detain the smugglers. Mr. Raqop led a team of investigators to an Indonesian vessel named Indojaya (อินโดจายา), which was docked near the ferry docks in Satun.

Sometime thereafter, the director led a team of inspectors onto the vessel and discovered more than 800 crates of various alcoholic imports, including beer, and whiskey, which were seized.

The vessel's aft shipsman named Mr. Mooniraja (มุนิราจะ) was also arrested, and confessed that the goods found on his ship were obtained from another foreign ship.

The goods were found to be lacking in tax receipts and proper import documents.
