Hi all just a quick post to all here to be careful in Bangkok.

I have a family here and am very rarely out on the town. But a friend was in town so we went out for a few on Friday night.

About 12:00 we decided it was time to go home and get back to the family. Quick stop at McDonalds then a taxi. Walked out of McDonalds and bombed into a Thai guy. I tried to walk around to his left he went the same way , I tried to go righthe went the same way. OK that's not unusual it happens. I got around him walked and next thing I know I feel a huge thud on my back turn around and they guy has a meat cleaver in his hand. He proceeds to hit me with it three times. Sees I'm not going down then pulls a machete out of the back of his jeans. At this point I ran !

Amazing thing is this was in a street full of people and right next to one of the police boxes with the bib inside.

I then went to report it and the response was your problem go home.

I've been here 15 years and of course know the way things work but the reaction of this police officer shocked even me. Who knows maybe he even saw it happen.

But please all of you be extra careful if out at night in bangkok .

The only believable part of the story is the police not being interested.

Be careful in the uk and Australia as they have the same problems. So does most of the world. I am sure this post is a wind up anyhow!

Obviously the OP had a bad dream, being chased with a meat cleaver and a machete.

I would have waken up having pissed myself but the OP seems more brave, he came up on TVF to tell us all about his bad dream.

To the OP. I am not saying you are to blame for this, and there is absolutely no excuse for the Thai guys behaviour, or the BIBs, but if you had not had a few, how many is a few 4 6 8pints or what? then this may not have happened, or maybe the Thai guy mistook you for someone else. I am not saying this is the case, but is there something else you are not telling us?

Not neccessary, a lone Thai guy with two weapons can be just like three or four of them. But yes, there is almost no chance a lone Thai guy will attack you without back up.

i believe you buddy , i also believe that these guys on thaivisa actually have lifes, hobbies and jobs to fill in their time when not wearing fancy executive suits living the hiso life with there filthy rich half thai/chinese white skinned hi-so wife who is the daughter of the the biggest bankging investors on thailand, whilst not on special ops mission's for the british special forces they are finishing there 5th masters degree.

Well Playa if I hit someone with a meat cleaver around the back of their head there's no way they would ever get up again and secondly you should ask the teacher you are assisting how to use a spell checker.

Seems a perfectly reasonable story to me, but op omitted one fact.

Perpetrator attacked with a meat cleaver but the blows were mysteriously diverted due to the op wearing an 'anti meat cleaver Buddha' (fact omitted in op).

The attacker then went for the machete, hoping an 'anti machete Buddha' was not being worn as well.

The op ran (reasonable action). It did not give the attacker a chance to test the machete or to try his third weapon, the AK47.

According to Freud, the meat cleaver is your mother's penis and the machete is your father's penis. The Thai guy in the dream is you and the 'you' in the dream are a vagina. The BIB are all the people in Highschool who ignored you.
