But that's because it doesn't happen every day, and it's a family joke. I even extend the joke and will point to one in surprise and say "Wow, farang!" to Thais. If somebody called me a frenchman....I would definitely hit them with a house brick. However, being called farang..comes with the territory. It is not going to go away because some people don't like the term. I think of it as karma. If you go to the Philippines....they call all foreigners "Cano" (americano) or "Cana"....even the french get called that.... Now that is funny!!!!
