60 Day Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hello I need to get a 60 day tourist visa from London Embassy.

Does anyone know what documents I need to take with me?

Is it just my passport, visa form and two recent passport photos?

Also I don't travel until November so once London issue my visa does the 60 days start from then or when I enter Thailand?

Thank you

The days start counting down from the day it's issued

Thank you so does that mean I should wait until as long as possible before applying because if I apply now my visa will run out before I return home because I'll be leaving Thailand on the 13th December

From the date it is issued, you will have 90 days to use it, for a single entry visa. When you enter Thailand, you will be stamped permitted to stay 60 days, before that expires, you can apply for 30 extension, for 1900 Baht if you need.

That's right, you get 60 days and an extension even if you enter on the last day of the visas validity.

This is not so useful on a single entry visa but it's very useful when you have a triple entry visa which is valid for 6 months, if you enter on the last day you can stay for just under 9 months with the third 60 day entry and an additional 30 day extension.

If there's even a small chance that you might consider staying longer than 90 days then I suggest you get a triple entry visa as it's much tougher to get one in Asia than it is in the UK !

Right I see thank you. I won't be staying longer :( I have to go back go work. So I believe it's a 60 days single entry tourist visa I need. I just didn't want to apply to early and it won't be valid but then I didn't want to leave it too late because I don't know how long it takes to get one

You get the visa the day after if you apply in person or 4 or 5 days if you do it by post.

Info about getting the visa can be found here.
