September 22, 201411 yr I spilled 7-up on my 5 year old MBP keyboard a few years ago. The esc, 1/2/3 buttons don't work. Obviously i use the little virtual keyboard when i need these keys. Now, is it possible to have them fixed in a shop in Pattaya? (i live in Rayong city so a tek to Bkk is an overnight job for me) or, as some have told me, i'm better off buying a new laptop as the cost is expensive?
September 22, 201411 yr Any Apple shop should be able to replace the keyboard. Another option is to use a USB keyboard.
September 22, 201411 yr The bad news is that the fix is a new keyboard. It is unlikely that yours can be repaired probably the acid and sugar has corroded the traces. Replacement isn't too difficult but not cheep. Edited September 22, 201411 yr by sometimewoodworker
