One Year "o" Visa Renewal

Featured Replies

While awaiting approval from B.kok for my annual renewal. "O" visa

I had a call from the local police station for my wife to go down and certify i am still with her and we are still living together in our home.

She had to take 2 locals along with their house papers ect. to verify our local standing.

They where interviewed seperately and fortunately as we where genuine, confirmed all the detailed questions they where asked.

The officer was very polite and reasonable at all times.

No further home visit was required in our case.

They where all impressed with him and his friendly attitude towards them.

The police officer in charge says a new directive has come from head office that all family visa renewals must now be re certified owing to many people abusing the system and not actually living with the wife / spouse.

Their just getting married for convenience and then seperating only to reunite for the annual renewals when they came up.

Obviously if everything is above board , apart from having to go through this proceedure again, there is nothing to worry about.

After the interview the officer said i can now go down to Nong Khai / Udon to get my renewal as the checking was approved.
