draftvader
Now is the time to turn the screw. Push that campaign to everybody you know. Express your concern that this is your only hope to ensure that any incident involving yourself and family members will ever be taken seriously. Basically this is your safety and security on the line here. JohnThailandJohn. The 8th largest economy in the world is swinging stuff about now. The people that did this are making sure that Prayuth is having to be very careful with the people he's talking to right now. There is no chance that he is calling the shots this time and he is NOT going to like this one bit. I imagine that the shock-wave will be substantial and the real attackers are going to feel it. They might get lucky....Britain is highly opposed to the death penalty, that might be part of the deal. BKK Blues Brother
More from the Telegraph: "Two migrant workers accused murdering two British tourists were reported to have retracted their confessions, as Thai prosecutors rejected a police report into the killings claiming it lacked "crucial information" and a leading forensic expert said the investigation "contradicted the principles of forensic science"". “A case of two murdered people certainly needs a forensic physician,” Khunying Porntip Rojanasunan, head of Thailand’s Central Institute of Forensic Science, was quoted as saying by the Bangkok Post. The police’s actions “contradicted the principles of forensic science,” the expert claimed". "Meanwhile, prosecutors in Surat Thani province, where the murders took place, reportedly rejected the police's investigation, telling officials they needed to "fix certain flaws" and supply "more crucial information", according to a report in Thailand's The Nation newspaper". http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/thailand/11150569/Thai-murder-suspects-retract-confessions.html RTP case falling apart rapidly now. Thailand’s most-respected forensics specialist cast doubts on the police investigation into the death of two British backpackers on Koh Tao Thursday, saying investigators erred when they neglected to involve a forensic pathologist. Intentional or not it remains to be seen, major face loss for RTP. Pictures of the crime scene all over the web and a key suspect photographed walking around the crime scene with his police friend. Metapod
Sean was most likely involved or there when it happened. I'm guessing the reason he has gone incognito is because he doesn't want to incriminate himself. It certainly is no longer a matter of his safety if he is truly back in Europe. Too many things about him that are more than coincidental.
draftvader
they say they have CCTV of the interrogations so how much do ya need plus DNA Just the DNA sampled by British forensic labs. That'll be enough, thank you. That WILL include all of the people working at the AC bar too please. This is what would have happened in England. DennisF
they say they have CCTV of the interrogations so how much do ya need plus DNA As the chief THAI forensic expert has cast doubts on the collection, storage and handling of the DNA, the blunering abpout a crime scene that has not been sealed plus there was no one there medically qualified on the scene, your arguments regarding DNA are invalid. So they have some confession tapes. I wonder how many minutes of that may have been altered or become unavailable??

SteveFong
The banana guy looks to me like a man just paid off to force confessions, It is also now a possibility, that the banana lied about what the kids were actually saying to him, why else would he have that stupid grin on his face? We all know now that this is a false article and that they did not confess anything to their lawyers other than being drunk, but still TV keeps this thread open as though it was factual, same as the RTP stating the Myanmar embassy was happy with them, Also, a false statement Interesting that Thai Visa doesnt have an article that the third suspect came back to the room and found the pair sleeping, with nothing to indicate a crime occurred, and no one mentione any blood anywhere in the residence, a bloody crime scene but no blood? sounds like the rapist killer swam to a boat, and washed in the water has Thai Visa been pressured not to run more condemning stories? zoza
the police story is getting washed away quicker than a sandcastle in the way of an incoming tide, I just read the police statement that both the Myanmar and British embassy's are happy with the RTP investigation ,er well the Brits were that happy that no one from the embassy attended the news conference yesterday as planned, a massive kick up the ass in embassy speak. the Myanmar embassy were a bit blunter and announced that they have serious doubts about the accusations against their two nationals after an embassy lawyer visited the two accused. I know things are not looking good for the RTP but going on tv and spouting obvious propaganda to have it refuted by two different embassy's the same day....they just can't change can they.. oh and all the RTP apologists can come up with whatever excuse they like car accident/mix up but it looks like the world has had to admit enough is enough. tattoodrob
Surely someone from KT can confirm a few things: Was Mons son actually on the island that day, locals (and Sean)must know him and so can confirm or deny that using anonymity if they worried about reprisals also can someone confirm about seeing Sean's cut in his arm from a previous accident before the murder as does seem strange that it suddenly needed washing on that night by a local worker and there does seem like quite a lot of blood on his guitar still so why didn't he actually clean it off at some stage already ,strange boy, maybe he was on the beach and somehow involved which can be a reason he was frightened or threatened and won't say more. Many people surrounding the incident seem to be told not to talk but why not talk anonymously with real details so it stops rumors. Where is more CCTV footage, some seems to be released so why not all now if nothing to hide and why nobody knows who the guy running with the lighter shorts on who isn't wearing them before if was the Burma guys on the motorbike! Maybe there is some footage of the mafia involved and so will never be seen for that reason, many of these things can be cleared up by the KT folk, whether they are Thai or farang.....it does stink but don't think police/army can ever admit wrongdoing now or let anyone investigate as that will end up in worse result than now for them, the real culprits are <deleted> animals and need to be punished for this despicable crime By the way Thai police are very adapt at there torture methods and so can inflict quite a lot of pain without any noticeable marks:electrocution to the balls has been talked about by previous people plus psychological threats work quite we'll on softer victims ie threats that police will rape your girlfriend/child and other such like if you don't say/do what they want, don't forget we are talking about the real mafia here(police) who don't have morals only greed. MikePhuket1970
It would be so easy to save the reputation for thailand and authorities -release all cctv recordings from the crime night -take DNA from Nomsod by an independence investigation group It would be so easy to stop all speculations and outcry Its so simple, isn´t it ?
Johnsen
Its not that simple. People u r looking at this the wrong way. The Thais are not trying to find the killers They are trying to cover this up. Everybody down there knows who did it. This is all about keeping the young kid out of jail. There is no DNA there's simply nothing. Y wasn't this done y wasn't that done .... Don't waste your time. Somebody needs to get smarter if you want to catch the killer. CCTV footage that the island has no control of... Near Worats dwelling in bkk. Airport security CCTV footage. You have to get creative. Maybe he stopped at a 7/11 etc etc. Forget the island, they have that covered.
Johnsen
I can add to that. Where did he get his new hair cut. Must have been somewhere near his uni. Who cut it. Look for cameras around all the hairdressers near his school. Get creative they have the simple stuff covered.
Popular Post Patsycat
Why doesn't Sean come forward and say something to the Press - get in touch with the guy from the Telegraph? It's not like he's going to be welcome back there in the very near future to continue his "hippy" lifestyle, is it? His comments on the net are ridiculous as is his music. No X Factor winner there. Did he really know David? or just met him a couple of times in the Uni bar? If a good friend of mine had flown half way around the world to see me - i would not have been asleep at the meeting time. If any member of Sean's family is reading these threads - they should also speak up. His sister seems to know him the best, can she sit there in silence too? Or is Sean just an attention seeker, who had run out of money and wanted a quick ticket home? Not realising the what was going to happen in the weeks following his little hissy fit. He should be ashamed of himself. Edited October 11, 2014 by Patsycat
BritTim
Many people surrounding the incident seem to be told not to talk but why not talk anonymously with real details so it stops rumors. Some have anonymously provided information that (if true) blows the police case clean out of the water. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to judge the credibility of anonymous sources. If there was a way to guarantee the safety of witnesses (and their families) who come forward, then perhaps the real facts would come to light. The reality is that few are willing to see their girl friends raped and parents murdered to ensure justice for strangers. The decision seems to have been made in Bangkok that maintaining the status quo on Koh Tao, while casting this as an isolated case involving two puny Burmese migrant workers, is the pragmatic solution. That being so, the prospects of real justice is slim. Bangkok will not change its decision now.
littlebw
Sean finally responded I don't know if Nom's son was on the island. Genuinely. But I've spoken to a journalist today to give all the information I have to them. Including the fact that Burmese guys were always expected to be blamed. It's not much. I think you expect I know more than I do, but it's everything I have. Also, information has came forward about the guy who "fell" to his death on Tao last year, so I expect the newspapers in the UK won't let this rest. I hope it's enough to save the 2 guys from Myanmar. I can't do any more. Edited October 11, 2014 by littlebw

slipperx
Perhaps Sean's disclosure which everyone attributes to the murders actually refers to something quite different! Perhaps it is also not a million miles away from the case in that the despicable corrupt people on Koh Tao are implicated to some degree. Perhaps the connections are tenuous but whatever we all know the RTP cannot be trusted - and maybe that is the takeaway Edited October 11, 2014 by slipperx
