Leave your worried behind, let’s wait until the day the law prohibited visa runner from doing long-term stay. If there is a light, that has to be a way. Jai yen yen

A friend of mine has been doing visa runs for years. Eight or so months ago he was told in no uncertain terms to NOT return to Phnom Penh again. That was to be his last visa from there. He was quite upset and seriously considered leaving Thailand. He changed to Laos visa runs and since then is now going back to Phnom Penh. Conditions are ALWAYS subject to change and the only thing consistent is the inconsistency. Good luck to him and those like him.

The goalposts change; this makes it a more exciting place to live.

Like the ocean tide, Thailand ebbs and flows. Wait till August 15th of this year; you'll see strict new regulation coming out.

When you think you think you understand it all, which is when "poof" they make you humble or with some people they get very wet. Wait till you see all the bitching and moaning in August. A thread of 20,000 views is right around the corner.

Hi Sunbelt; could you be a bit more specific about the new visa regulations? I am sure many are curious. Cheers!

Yeah Greg,

That was a bit of a tease.

This thread doesn't need to have 20,000 views. Be patient my son. :o By the way, the memorandum has nothing to do with visa runners yet. But then again with the election in October... stay tune.

You start training today captain ? Perfect weather outside. Hot and sticky.

Can’t wait, can you?

Today’s papers will report yesterday’s news, and tomorrow’s papers will carry today’s news.

However, in the meantime Sunbelt already lifted the lid. See here.

Nothing for Gfunk to worry. He can continue to walk, continue his visa-running or visa-avoidance-running or 30-day-stamp-on-arrival-running or border-running or whatever it may be called. Or, instead of run, he can, as he says, walk. Too hot to run, anyway, better to walk.

Well, the crackdown has arrived, comments guys?

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

It ain't october yet, please wait one more month, but yes we will read hundreds of comments before anything really happens, see that airport....

Shock and surprise ?? Since the government has been planning to do this for several years I don't know why anyone should be surprised. There will be several groups hurt by this. The backpacker school teachers will suffer the most. The many mini van companies who specialize in border runs and last but not least the Camdodian government will not be collecting so many visa fees.

Kind of like the people who are very upset because they "own" property through bogus companies. :o
