I accepted a booking for my hotel for a small group of Romanians. Romania, though having been a EU country for a number of years, is not on the list of countries whose nationals get a 30 day visa free entry stamp at the airport.

The embassy in Bucharest required a confirmed hotel booking, and showing my e-mail confirming the booking didn't do the trick. They needed an official invoice with company stamp, which I duly sent as a pdf file this morning.

They don't get visa exempt entries but can get a 15 day visa on arrival (1000 baht).

There are certainly some embassies that are very stringent on their requirements for visas.
