cyrusgreat Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Hello: Does any one have a recent experience with Thai embassy at Jakarta? there are no visa processing time that I can find on their website? What has your experience been getting a B visa from KL? or Cambodia? Thank You in advance.
ubonjoe Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Single or multiple entry non-b visa? Do you have a work permit or a work permit application approval letter? Only Penang does multiple entries if you a have a work permit valid for 8 months. Kl and PP Cambodia are not great choices to get your visa. Penang or Laos are the best places if you have a approval letter for the work permit application (unless teaching). 1

My wife and are both US citizens and have been here in Thailand for 4 months- One 30 day on arrival and one 60 days on a tourist visa from PP and one 30 day extension. I have been in talks ( five lengthy interviews ) with a large 300 employee Thai company to join their management but due to the complexity of the position, I have to appear in front of their board of directors which is after my visa expires on the 15th. The company has drafted a letter to Thai Embassy, detailing out what I have just described and has asked them to provide a Non B- Visa as well to me and a dependent visa to my wife. They also have explained in the letter that upon the final approval of their Board of Directors they will apply and process my work permit. They also have provided about 30 pages of various documents with their company's seals to support my application. What do you think the best venue would be for me to get the visa? Thanks Again,
ubonjoe Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Only in Singapore will they do the non-b visa without a work permit application approval letter. Requirements here: http://www.thaiembassy.sg/visa-matters-/-consular/visa-requirements/non-immigrant-visa-b 1
Shaunduhpostman Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 In 2012, Jakarta took a week to kick out a 1 year non-imm O multiple, that's a different visa altogether than what you're after. Also, I found them to be very responsive and helpful on the phone and all the info that they gave me was correct not to mention clear. I'd ring them and ask. 1

cyrusgreat Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 Thank you for all suggestions. After all I decided to go back to PP as that was the where I had gotten my original tourist visa and was approved for a single non-business visa without the work permit for " Conducting Business" and my wife the same thing. The detail follows: Arrived at PP 11:00 PM- fast visa on arrival on Cambodia. The visa price is $30 for tourist visa. Be sure you have one piece of photo and now there is a health card that has to be filled out due to Ebolla out break. Same driver as last time picked us up ($20 ) to same great new Botique hotel ( Villa Sovanna ) arrived at midnight. Same driver picked us up at 7:30 am went to the embassy doors opened at 8:30 waited till 8:45 for officers to show up. There are 3 windows, was called to window #3 and most agents were somehow dropping off their clients passport at the same window than the other two. The lady officer took all my highly organized documents and asked us to sit. She took about 45 minutes and examined all of the papers very carefully and she made a call lasting about 10 minutes. I believe she called the company to verify the documents. After 45 minutes, she said, you need to pay $80 each and I asked if she was going to give us a multiple entry, she said it wa snot necessary just extend when inside thailand and I said OK even I think I should have insisted. she said it will be ready in 2 days. Another guy was there for same thing and he also got single entry non-B. Couple of notes: The embassy will be closed on 15th and 17th even-though the website does not say that. It is best to call them first. Not too many people. Drop off times are 8:30am-11:00 am and pick up is from 14:30-16:00 I believe if your documents are in order, you can get you B visa from any of the countries. any questions on driver or hotel, be happy to share it. Please inbox me. Thanks again for all replies.
