in reaqding last weeks "pattaya mail" i came across a story about a british gentleman who was robbed by a trio of men, the story told of how two of the three were caught and they where looking for the third person who's name was narong rat. enungkul, age 29, the story went on to say the police knew the third person because he had a history with them, he had 5 drug busts and 20 burglary's.

i re-read the story because i couldn't have read it right the first time but the story was this, the police knew the third suspect because he had been arrest for 5 drug offenses and 20 burglarys, so here is my question, what do you have to do to get a long term sentence in thailand? i use to think that the laws were to leinant in america but thailand apparently takes the cake

theres people on death row for 1 drug offence!

There's also a 21 year old girl serving a 13 year jail sentence just for being in the same house as her boyfriend who had some yaa baa and a gun hidden above one of the ceiling tiles. The logic of the police was that, as she was his girlfriend, she must have known about his possessions....Case closed. :o

only poor people go to jail in thailand

Isn't it the same in most other countries as well?

Huh ? You're actually making a post ? :D

Naturally. Poor people make up the majority of the population in pretty much every country. Even in wealthy countries, the people who aren't as well off are going to be the majority of that countries prisoners.

But rich people still do go to jail on occasion. Like Martha Stewart. Like Ken Lay would have if he hadn't died recently.

It's less likely to happen in this country though. :o

................and don't forget Lord Jeffrey Archer, Baron of Weston-Super-Mare, Member of the House of Lords, youngest ever MP in the House of Commons, athlete, novelist, would-be Mayor of London and perjurer!!

OJ was arrested, but never sentenced to jail/prison. Wasn't really that rich either apparently (barely has enough to keep him in golf memberships and travel around the country. :o

Make it home OK last night ? The rain changed my plans. Hit the Blue Lagoon for abit. When I came out it had all dried up and I carried on home. Didn't really rain that much at all. :D

Made it home O.K. Stupid hotel shuttle made me wait 1 1/2 hours to go back to my hotel. I was so tired. From now on, I'm not sending my driver home, he can wait.
