October 15, 201411 yr In the past I've hired a truck to go over a short distance, and after getting multiple quotes I was surprised just how much they ask. Quotes prices were in the 500 to 700 range for a short distance. I'm going to buy a 50 inch flat screen TV pretty soon and will drive about 1 km from the local Tesco to my house. A van taxi fare would cost 50-70 baht maximum, maybe more if they charge a premium for being a van. Of course the trouble is finding them when you need them. Is there a central office to call to schedule an appointment with one of these van taxis? I'm in the Sukhumit 22 area near the Phrom Phong Tesco
October 16, 201411 yr BIG C would deliver for free, plus their bakery products are a lot better anyway
October 16, 201411 yr Author Good to know, thanks. In case I go with a smaller store though (no delivery) is it possible to schedule a van taxi?
October 16, 201411 yr What is a, "van taxi"? Do you mean a song taew? Why is it different from a normal taxi? As mentioned above, get the store to not only deliver, but install the tv. Central office for song taew, are you having a laugh?
