Where to buy an audio cassette player?

Featured Replies

Where in Pattaya could I buy an audio cassette player? I mean that old fashioned tape technology from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

I want to use it to digitize a bunch of old cassette tapes, so I'm thinking of a reasonable quality machine that you might slot into a hi-fi setup rather than a little portable Sony Walkman type thing.

Thanks.

agree on that smile.png

same idea works, if you also want to transfer:

  • LPs USB to MP3
  • Photographic Slides USB to CD
  • Author

Thanks, but I tried something very like that and the sound quality was awful. That's why I mentioned wanting to use a proper hi-fi cassette deck.

I have the setup I want here in the UK - using my old hi-fi cassette player and this little device...

and I get great results.

But I don't want to have to lug my old cassette player to Thailand.

Collingbourne auctions on Soi Chaipruk regularly have old style music centres with cassette players.

Try a few of the pawn shops. They might have something laying around. Also maybe that used shop on the second floor of Big C up off Pattaya Klang (the old Carre 4). I have seen some old electronics stuff laying around.

Tesco sell multi player systems DVD, Radio, cassette player combined. 2500 to 5000 baht price range. If like me you are converting to digital make sure it has line out. Sound quality from head phone jack is poor

look out for some Russian-focussed music store.

Audio cassettes must still be the in-thing these days?

Did you say Cassette tapes, wow trying to remember last time I listened to one . I bet over 25 years ago

Do you mean Cashconverters? They closed a couple of years ago ...
