PHUKET: A man who was found earlier today on the roadside in a pool of his own blood, clinging to life but motionless next to a wrecked, black Honda Click motorbike, ultimately died from loss of blood and serious head trauma.

The victim was identified as Mr Jorge Estrela Veiera Machado, 51, a South African national.

Rescue workers who arrived to the scene near Kata Garden Hotel just before 10am.

Judging from the accident scene, it is believed that no 3rd party was directly involved. No crash helmet was found at the scene

Wow... Could they have packed any more gratuitously graphic sensationalism into that first line?

It is amazing how the Thailand news writers (and I use the term loosely) continuously write like a bunch of unsupervised undergrads with no comprehension of the nuances and connotations of the words they try to use, and how they apparently have no cultural or human sensitivity to the people affected by the tragedies they report on.

Imagine if his family had to read that... It's just totally inappropriate.

Rest in Peace fella...

?????

Do you really think that the family of this bloke is subscribing to to a newspaper published in Thailand? He may well have had a g/f or family in Thailand but the chances that they read the Phuket News are equally as small.

What would you like to see the report say?

Once again, Phuket, the island of "high frequency tourist deaths" strikes again.

RIP Mr Veiera

RIP mi Amigo.

If there is the reincarnation, in your next life please use helmet, every-times when you ride in motorbike.
